Lisa Grice
This is my fourth year at Legacy Point. Prior to teaching at Legacy Point, I taught special education in Aurora. I also taught 4th and 5th grade in the beginning of my career. Prior to teaching, I drove a school bus in California. Working with kids has always been my passion and I have been lucky enough to know that education was my calling. I am excited to teach fifth grade this year and get to know the amazing young people I am working with.
Born and raised in California, my family and I moved to Colorado in 2004 to be closer to family. I have been married for 33 years and we have one daughter, who is 31 and is a crisis response clinician supervisor with the Denver Police Department. My greatest joy is being a grandma to my 2 grandbabies, one is 18 months and one is 12. We are die-hard Avalanche fans and Denver Broncos fans. Some of my other favorite things are butterflies, sloths, and Sonic iced tea.
Melissa Hamby
I am thrilled to welcome you to our 5th grade classroom at Legacy Point Elementary and share my love of learning and teaching with you and your child. I have been a member of the Legacy Point family for 17 years and am incredibly proud of our most recent accomplishment: Legacy Status. Through the guidance of The Leader in Me, we are building leaders and lighting the way for others. Prior to teaching at Legacy Point, I taught 3rd grade at a charter school and 4th grade in Wichita, Kansas. Working with kids has always been my passion and I have been lucky enough to know that education was my calling. I also enjoy coaching various youth sports, especially soccer, and helping kids find their strengths in something outside of academics. I am excited to teach fifth grade again this year and get to know the amazing young people I am working with.
Born and raised in Kansas, my husband and I moved to Parker in 2002 so I could begin my teaching career. Mr. Hamby works for Natural Grocers. We have three daughters, Parker, who works as an educator at Rocky Mountain Preschool, Presley, who is working toward her cosmetology license, along with 7 year old Pearson taking on second grade here at LPE. We are die-hard Kansas fans and are always cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs during football season and the Kansas University Jayhawks during basketball season. When I have some free time, I enjoy going for hikes, reading a good book, and hanging out in my garden.
Kennedy Scott
My name is Kennedy Scott and I will be your student’s 5th grade teacher! I am from Castle Rock and graduated college from Fort Lewis back in 2024 with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I am more excited and motivated than ever to educate and get to know you and your young ones! I am dedicated to making sure each student gets what they need in order to succeed. As a class, I will focus on creating a community where everyone feels safe and excited to be at school!
Previously, I worked at a gold mine in Idaho Springs, Colorado. Here, I gave tourists tours underground and educated them on the history of gold mines. I also helped build the train tracks to a train ride! Today, you will find me outdoors riding my mountain bike or hiking up mountains!
AJ Deliantus
I am so excited to join the Legacy Point Elementary family this year and begin this amazing journey with all of you.
This is my first year as a full-time teacher at Legacy Point, but it isn't my first experience here. For those of you who don't know me, I've been a substitute teacher at Legacy Point Elementary since January 2026. Before accepting this incredible opportunity, I've spent more than 20 years working with children in a variety of roles. I've been a tutor, a one-on-one behavioral aide, an assistant in a special needs classroom, a teacher's assistant, the nurse and office manager at a recreation camp, a coach, and a classroom teacher. Whew—that's quite the list!
I also previously taught 5th grade at a charter school back home in New Jersey. And yes... I do have the accent. 😊 Working with children has always been my passion, and teaching has truly been my life's calling.
I'm an East Coaster who proudly calls New Jersey home, but I'm still pretty new to Colorado. It's taken some time to settle in because, honestly, I've spent most of my time working. Along with teaching, I also work a couple of days a week at Trader Joe's, although I've reduced my hours so I can focus on what matters most—being the best teacher I can be for your children.
Outside the classroom, I'm a huge sports fan. I've been bleeding blue and orange since I was six years old—the year the Broncos won their first Super Bowl. (You can do the math if you'd like! 😄) I'm also a lifelong Mets fan, a big Terrell Davis fan, and I love cheering on the Rockies and the Avalanche.
Moving to Colorado by myself has been a big adventure, and I'm still enjoying getting to know my new home and building a life here. When I'm not teaching, you can usually find me at a sporting event, writing screenplays, cooking, working out, building with LEGO®, exploring the outdoors, or—when my body decides to cooperate—competing in Spartan Races.
