Curriculum Overview
We integrate higher-order thinking skills and integrate the 7 Habits of Happy Kids into our daily instruction. At Legacy Point Elementary we do not subscribe to a “one size fits all” philosophy regarding student learning. We understand that personalizing education based on student need is far more enriching than relying on one resource. Staff at Legacy Point have been trained in a variety of effective, research-based teaching strategies. Teachers apply their expertise and experiences with various resources to use as tools to engage students in meaningful and purposeful learning. It is our belief that students must learn and practice foundational skills and apply them to new situations. Foundational skills provide the platform for learning allowing teachers to engage students in rigorous, hands-on learning opportunities that encourage communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. Students are prepared to be college and career-ready as well as productive citizens in the workplace.
