Douglas County School District is funded via the Public School Finance Act of 1994.  Monies provided to the district are to fund the cost of providing public education.  Funding is based on the number of students enrolled and in attendance on the “official count day”.  Each year all DCSD students are counted on an official date & the District’s total enrollment is reported to the State. The official count dates for the 2023-2024 School Year are:

Your school’s budget is based on the number of students counted during this period. Therefore, it is extremely important that accurate records, especially attendance records, are maintained.
