Legacy Point Elementary: Where Every Learner Becomes a Leader

At Legacy Point Elementary in Parker, leadership is part of the everyday experience for students and staff alike. Through the implementation of FranklinCovey’s Leader in Me curriculum, the school has built a culture in which every learner is encouraged to lead, grow, and contribute.

Rooted in “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and “The 4 Disciplines of Execution,” Leader in Me is not taught as a standalone curriculum. Instead, its principles are woven into daily instruction, school traditions, and systems — creating a consistent and empowering environment for students.

Leadership opportunities can be found throughout the school. Students take on roles such as leading morning announcements, while staff members, including the building engineer, help guide meaningful traditions such as flag raising and lowering. In classrooms, students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and contribute in ways that highlight their unique strengths.

This intentional focus on leadership helps students recognize their potential and understand everyone has the ability to make a positive impact.

In 2025, Legacy Point Elementary earned Leader in Me Legacy School Recognition — the highest honor awarded by the program. This distinction reflects a strong, sustained leadership culture which empowers students, staff, families, and the broader community.

At Legacy Point, leadership isn’t just something students learn: It’s something they live every day.
